My Journey...

I have been working at Our Monkey Club for 6 years and had been working with young children my entire career. I had often worked in baby rooms and cared for the youngest children at the nurseries however I have worked with children of all ages throughout my career. Before beginning at Our Monkey Club I had completed my Foundation Degree in Early Childhood Studies and really enjoyed learning more about child development and my role with the children. I joined OMC and worked at the Donisthorpe setting with the children under 24months for 2 years and loved my role guiding their learning and supporting their transition into the main spaces. I then moved to the Church Gresley where I worked with the under twos and undertook by BA (Hons) in working with Children and Families in the Early Years.
I then welcomed the newest member to our family and after Ollie was born, I I enjoyed spending time with him and my family and then again returned to the Donisthorpe Setting to focus on the youngest children. I have led practice with our children attending the setting under 24 months and supporting other practitioners by becoming a mentor and modelling practice and developing their skills.
Kindori
While I have often focused on the youngest children in the setting, I really enjoy working with our school aged children before and after school and have loved becoming a key person within the pre-school. I had experienced more traditional nursery settings before coming to Our Monkey Club and value the child directed environment that our company offers the children. I love working with children and cannot imagine doing anything else. My role enables me to watching our children to become independent and gain confidence and I get to watch my son grow up surrounded by friends which is something I value greatly.
