All services working with Children and Young People have undergone massive changes in the past decade and are still only just making the necessary adjustments. The leaps in neuroscience, the research into influences on the outcomes for children resulted in the introduction of the Early Years Foundation Stage in 2007 and the Early Years Professional Status were key steps in up skilling the section. Since then a full review of the training expectations of the sector has been undertaken by Cathy Nutbrown (2012).
We believe that practitioners with a clear understanding of child development and effective theoretical approaches will support our children to better outcomes and so this is a priority for OMC.
You will be expected to be committed to a Continuous Professional Development programme for the length of your service.
